Well, now that Obama has been reelected we at least know where we stand. Maybe now we will realize that elections and politics as usual are not going to save America. While some say it is too late to save America, I believe that is true but only with regard to America as it is today. In the years to come, America must reinvent herself by begging for protection through the intercession of her patroness, Our Lady, under her title of the Immaculate Conception, and by dedicating herself to the Sacred Heart of Christ the King. Christ’s social kingship must be understood and honored by future generations.
A priest friend of mine suggested that churches have candlelight processions for the upcoming feast of our nation’s patroness on December 8, the feast of the Immaculate Conception. It was also suggested that there be a day of fast and abstinence for the vigil of the Immaculate Conception as was a tradition in the Church in the United States until the 1950’s. Wouldn’t it be great if everyone contacted their bishops and the USCCB and asked for their leadership in calling upon Catholics to fast as an act of penance in order to mitigate any future chastisement of our country?
